Bio: Larry Barnes is the owner and lead instructor of SHTF Medical Skills, a disabled veteran-owned and operated company specializing in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Basic Life Support (BLS), and CPR/AED training. With a strong background in military service, Larry has firsthand experience in combat medicine and lifesaving interventions in high-stress environments. His mission is to equip individuals, first responders, and organizations with the skills they need to save lives in emergency situations.
A dedicated instructor and mentor, Larry integrates real-world battlefield experience with practical, hands-on training to ensure students gain confidence and proficiency. He is committed to empowering healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and civilians alike, making high-quality medical training accessible to all.

Bio: Megan Barnes is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SHTF Medical Skills, bringing over 14 years of expertise in government contracts, finance, and personnel management. As a key leader in the company, she ensures that SHTF Medical Skills operates with financial strength, strategic growth, and operational efficiency.
Megan’s extensive background includes managing multimillion-dollar budgets, overseeing payroll, and handling U.S. Treasury disbursements. Her deep knowledge of financial planning and contract management allows SHTF to expand its training programs, secure government and private contracts, and maintain affordable, high-quality medical training for individuals and organizations.

Role: Lead SHTF Tactical Defense Instructor
Bio: Anthony Davis is a seasoned tactical defense instructor with a strong background in real-world combat training and martial arts. A former U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant, he served as a MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program) instructor, where he trained fellow Marines in hand-to-hand combat, close-quarters defense, and strategic force application.
Throughout his military career, Davis refined his skills through a blend of disciplines, including boxing, MMA, and various traditional martial arts. His approach to self-defense is rooted in adaptability, efficiency, and control—emphasizing not just the application of force but the understanding of movement, timing, and situational awareness.
With global experience conducting training operations in high-stakes environments like Fallujah, Somalia, and aboard Navy vessels such as the USS Peleliu, USS Dubuque, and USS Pearl Harbor, Davis has worked alongside military personnel from diverse backgrounds. He has also trained in Japan, Singapore, and Guam, learning from and exchanging techniques with martial artists from different cultures.
Now, as a civilian instructor, Davis continues to teach practical, real-world defense strategies tailored for threat imminent scenarios. His training focuses on developing resilience, awareness, and technical proficiency— helping students of all skill levels build confidence and competence in self-defense. Above all, he considers himself a student of the art, constantly evolving and refining his knowledge to provide the best possible instruction.
